Environment and Conservation Fund Nature Explorer in Mui Tsz Lam

ECF Nature Explorer in Mui Tsz Lam is a year-long environmental education programme that aims to promote environmental awareness and biodiversity conservation in the Sha Tin area. This programme is organized by the Student Affairs Office and the Residential Colleges Unit with support from the Environment and Conservation Fund.

By engaging participants in exploring the local biodiversity, we aim to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving and protecting our environment. Additionally, the programme will work closely with local schools to develop lesson plans, with an aim to empower local school students to become advocates for sustainability in their own communities.

Sustainability Leaders Training

Students will receive a series of training on different aspects, such as team-building, communication skills, public speaking, soft skills to become eco-tour guides, etc. Through these training sessions, they will be more knowledgeable on environmental issues and other generic skills.

In the next phase, students will engage the public, particularly local school students in Sha Tin District, by organizing a wide range of activities, including but not limited to school talks and eco-tours. Students will also implement their projects in the RC community.

The ultimate goal of the programme is to develop an education kit for local school’s reference to provide high-quality environmental education to students.

A maximum of 6 iGPS Units and 45 RC points will be granted to sustainability leaders if they fulfil all the attendance requirements.
