Residential College System
RC System
We are the first private university in Hong Kong to adopt a full Residential College System.
Faculty Engagement
RC Fellowship Scheme is an initiative to engage faculty who are committed to contributing to the RCs. These RC Fellows interact with students by designing and hosting informal educational activities dependent of the respective RC themes. These events integrate student learning with the living context. They also provide academic advising and pastoral guidance to our student residents.
Student Affiliation & Engagement
Under the RC System, there are four RCs and accommodates around 1,200 students. The key features of the RC System advance the RCs from accommodation purpose to a living-and-learning community that provide transformative learning experience to students.
With a wide range of RC events happening throughout the year, students are guided by “1-1-1-2” scheme to optimize their residential experience:
- 1 RC Affiliation;
- 1 attendance of High Table Dinner;
- 1 meaningful conversation with RC Executive Committee and Fellows; and
- 2 attendances at RC Programmes.
Non-residential Members
Students who live off campus may enjoy social and academic benefits by joining the Non-residential Membership Scheme.
They are eligible to participate in RC events and enjoy the interaction with student residents, faculty members and other RC members. The Scheme encourages intellectual and social interaction among the RC community, and promote students’ sense of belonging to the College and University.
