About High Table Dinner
High Table Dinners have their roots in medieval Europe, particularly within the traditions of esteemed universities like Oxford and Cambridge. At HSU, this cherished tradition brings together faculty, guests, and students in a formal dining experience that fosters intellectual exchange and collaboration. These dinners not only provide students with an opportunity to navigate a formal dining setting but also help cultivate a sense of pride and belonging within the university community.

Four distinct residential colleges will each host their own High Table Dinners once or twice annually, typically in October and March. Additionally, a Joint Residential Colleges High Table Dinner takes place every April to commemorate the conclusion of the academic year, creating lasting memories for all students.
All student are required to dress in university gowns to attend the dinners. As a tradition, there will be an address by a distinguished local or global community leader. For many attendees, this marks their first experience at a formal dinner, making it a memorable milestone in their academic journey.
Joint-RCs High Table Dinner

HSUHK’s Joint-RCs High Table Dinner is held every April to commemorate the conclusion of the academic year. This event creates lasting memories for all students and brings together guests, teachers, and 400 international, mainland, and local students for an enjoyable and delightful night.
As a highly anticipated event within our RC community, this dinner provided an invaluable platform for guests, faculty members and students to come together. It fostered meaningful conversations, allowed for the sharing of experiences, and helped build lasting relationships among all attendees.
