Lee Yick Hoi Lun Mosaic College Black Box Theatre Drama <WoMen De JingKe>

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Residential Colleges, Mosaic College has presented a captivating Black Box Theatre Drama Performance with the generous support from Sin Wai Kin Chinese Culture Promotion Scheme.

By narrating the tale of JingKe in the story of “JingKe Assassinating King Zhen,” a fresh perspective is revealed by the dedicated efforts of the Director Mr. Chung Siu Hei and talented cast, which includes alumni and current residents. The performance allow us to discover the “JingKe” that resides in everyone of us and lead to meaningful reflection on fame, ambition, and self-destruction.

The event successfully drew in over a hundred residents from the Kwong Yuen Estate to donate their reusable items, engage in exchange and enjoy a movie together. The students and teachers from Fung Yiu King Evergreen College sorted the donated items, allowing residents to exchange them for free, giving new life to old goods.   This event fostered a greener community, connecting the residents of Kwong Yuen Estate with HSUHK students and teachers through environmentally friendly concepts.

Patrick S C Poon Amity College and Fung Yiu King Evergreen College <Service Learning Tour in Japan>

17 students completed a service-learning tour in Kyushu, Japan. Focused on rural heritage conservation and sustainable development, the programme immersed students in cultural exchanges and hands-on volunteer work, offering profound insights into Japan’s socio-environmental challenges.

The eight-day tour included deep dives into Japanese traditions and visits to historic shrines where local guides explained rituals and etiquette. Students also engaged in a unique university exchange programme at the Oita Prefecture, touring campuses with Japanese peers to compare educational systems and campus life. Guided exploration time further allowed participants to experience local culture organically, from bustling markets to tranquil rural landscapes.
