HSMC Jockey Club Residential Colleges Joint High Table Dinner
The Joint High Table Dinner of HSMC Jockey Club Residential Colleges was held on 9 October 2018 at the College Hall. Around 500 participants including residents from our four Residential Colleges (RC), RC Masters, Associate Master, Resident Tutors, RC Fellows and senior management staff joined this event.
The dinner was kicked off by the warm welcoming address by President Prof Simon Ho. It was then followed by the keynote speaker, Ms Kim Lim, the co-founder of The Picha Project, a social enterprise rebuilding lives of refugees in Malaysia through a sustainable food business. She shared her own experience on making change to the community and encouraged students to embrace their belief which could make contributions to their families, our community and the world.
Another highlight was the presentation of The Council Chairman Bowl by President. With the generous support from the Council Chairman, Dr Moses Cheng, the inter-RC competitions were thus instituted as the Council Chairman Bowl in 2017/18. The overall champion, the Residential College with the highest total scores, would be awarded the Bowl. The overall winner of 2017/18 went to Evergreen College and they shared the honor by putting the Bowl at the head of the row of their RC!
The piano and singing performance by two student residents were also well received. All residents, RC members and staff enjoyed the dinner so much and had a great time in interacting with each other.
